Economic Institute of Cambodia, Cambodia (ECI) is an independent think tank established in February 2003. The mission of the EIC is to enhance the awareness of Cambodian stakeholders on development issues and to participate in the formulation of sustainable economic development policies and strategies that will equitably benefit most, if not all, Cambodians. Their objectives are to provide a better understanding of the economy through socio-economic research; to actively and critically participate in formulating economic policies and strategies; and to satisfy the needs of policy makers and decision makers for accurate and relevant information in their quest to secure a sustainable economic development for Cambodia.
China
National Economic Research Institute (NERI), China, is a non-profit, non-government academic research institution founded in 1996 and based in Beijing. It engages in scientific, policy-oriented research on a broad range of important issues concerning China's current economic reform and development. Its purpose is to encourage high-quality economic research and analyses on subjects of interest to business, government, and the general public, in order to contribute to China’s modernisation process. NERI is funded entirely from non-government sources (foundations, organisations, and businesses), both national and international.
Laos PDR
National University of Laos (NUoL) was established in June 1995, by the merger of ten existing higher education institutions and a centre of agriculture. The aim NUoL is to rationalise the higher education of Lao PDR, making it more efficient and more effective in its task of training human resources for the country.
National Economic Research Institute (NERI), Lao PDR, is a research institute and an interministerial body. It is a governmental think tank under the Committee for Planning and Cooperation (CPC) of Lao PDR. NERI provides research-based policy recommendations and advocacy at the macro level in the context of globalisation. They follow a country–specific tailor-made advocacy methodology so as to make the best use of the potentiality of the country in competition with neighbouring countries like China and Thailand.
Vietnam
Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) is a national institute under the direct authority of the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Its functions are to undertake research and put forward proposals and recommendations on economic laws and regulations, policies, planning and management mechanisms, business environment and economic renovation; in addition to research, it provides training and re-training to economic management staff and provides consultancy services in accordance with the laws and regulations.
Vietnam Standard and Consumer Association (VINASTAS) was founded in 1988, 2 years after the launching of the economic renovation policy that established the market system in Vietnam. Since then, the association has had two main aims: Promoting standardisation, methodology and quality, and protecting consumers.
Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) is a governmental research institute within the Vietnam Academy for Social Sciences. Founded in 1983, the institute is one of the Vietnam's leading research centres and provides advice and socio-economic policy recommendations for the Government of Vietnam.
Centre for Development and Integration is a non-profit organisation with the aim of developing a sustainable socio-economic society in which the well-being of poor women, girls, men and boys are protected. Through its information centre, publications, and workshops, it focuses on research, policy analysis, socio-economic survey and advocacy; institutional capacity building, knowledge and information sharing.
